  2. double spaced

  3. standard 1″ margins

  4. top left of first page: name, contact info, word count

Electronic submissions only. Send your story as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf attachment to YAS.Quarterly@gmail.com

The subject line of your message should say “ezine submission - [your story title]”

Simultaneous Submissions:

Yes. However, you must inform us at the time of submission about this status.

Multiple Submissions:

Not of the same type, unless otherwise stated during a contest or other special event. If you wish to submit two separate items (Art and written) you may do so. We will not publish two separate written works by the same author in a single publication (aside from any future special event/contest/etc with special consideration at such time).

Response Times:

We will send an acknowledgement of receipt within 72 hours. (That’s 3 days) If you do not receive this, please query. Average response time is fairly quick, but we’ll definitely get back to you within 2 weeks to let you know whether we wish to hold the story for further consideration or not. Final determinations are made after submission period closes. If you haven’t heard from us after 2 weeks, please send a brief query email with your name, title of your story, and the date your work was submitted to YAS.Quarterly@gmail.com

.

Other Considerations:

Proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar are a must. We have a volunteer editor, not a slave for anyone to intentionally leave errors and create more work. We understand that not everyone is at the same level for these writing skills, but effort must be reflected in your writing. There are several free online programs and sites that can assist as well as some low cost options. We advise you use them. We all want to be proud of our magazine/ezine as you should be proud of your submissions.

Don’t send us a revised version of a story we’ve already rejected unless we specifically request it.
